The goal for this assignment was to search for keywords targeting the company in three different methods.
First Method
The first step in this process was to identify the competitor of Priefert which is Tarter, https://tarterusa.com/categories/. I plugged in the Tarter URL into the given website, https://www.thehoth.com/search-engine-rankings/, to find the top traffic-driving key words. With the given options from The Hoth, I chose the word Tarter gate, because that was the only relevant option to Priefert, which was then plugged into https://ahrefs.com/ and there were insufficient keywords as they all had tarter infant of them. ‘Cattle Gates’ was then plugged in because both those companies have a lot of cattle products which gave the keyword ‘cattle gates’ which has an easy KD.
Second Method
The first step was to search https://trends.google.com/trends and plug in possible keyword that relates to the business. I searched ‘cattle gates’ first, which then gave me options for related quires and I chose ‘cattle panel’. This was searched in the Ahref’s Free Keyword Generator. The keywords that I chose with an easy or medium KD were: cattle panels, cattle panels for sale, cattle panels near me, 16ft cattle panels.
Third Method
The third method to finding key words was to use Google Ads and Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator. The first step was to search ads.google.com and go to the keyword planner on that site. Then we were to add a few keywords that go with the business. I typed in rodeo, ranching, working cattle, livestock panels, horse panels, bucking chutes which lead me to another page where it gave keyword ideas which the top three were nfr tickets, nfr tickets 2022, nfr 2022. These keyword ideas that I was given do have a significance with Priefert as Priefert supplies their panels and bucking chutes for the NFR. I then plugged them into Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator which gave me the results below for keywords. I know these are all fairly similar, but again, Priefert and the NFR do a lot of business together.
